New motorcycle commercials

Reading the hype about the banned GoDaddy SuperBowl commercial made me think that I haven’t seen any commercials for the new 2005 motorcycles. Actually I’m not sure I saw any for the 2004, 03, 02 models and so forth. Come to think of it I don’t think I’ve ever seen a motorcycle commercial on TV at all.

I gave Google a quick spin to see if I could find some bike commercials online and it’s surprisingly few. I found one for last years Fireblade, but that was just about it. Try doing a search for “yamaha mt-01 commercial” and then “godaddy commercial” the difference is sort of in yer face.

Don’t the motorcycle companies make commercials at all or is it that they are so boring no one finds them interesting enough to mention on a website? It seems “cage-fans” finds car commercials interesting enough; do a search for Audi commercial and it’s right there. But then again when it comes to car commercials I can’t remember ever turning on a TV without being exposed to at least several.

Where are the bike commercials? Help me find them. If you know of any or have seen them on TV in your part of the world, please leave a comment and a link if you have it.

Here’s one for KTM: http://www.990superduke.com/media/impressions/vid/01_filme.wmvand this is a PSA for motorcycle safety rather than an ad, but I like it: http://www.thinkroadsafety.gov.uk/campaigns/motorcycles/download/perfectday.mpg.

I’m not sure that KTM clip is an actual commercial, it seems a bit too violent and law braking to make it through a corporate image and legislation department.

I like the safety clip, gives you a good ide of what its like to ride for “real” unlike the KTM clip, which could have been that swedish Ghost Rider guy (or wanted to be I don’t know).

    Thank you for commenting.

I guess you don’t watch Eurosport that often ;-) Last season that channel was packed with Suzuki commercials when they broadcasted GP.

There is also a rather amusing Kawasaki commercial right here: http://www.fight-club.no/files/kawa.mpg

Thank you for commenting Susanne, and yes you couldn’t have hit the nail more on the spot. I don’t watch Eurosport that often, don’t have cable. I didn’t think of that, but of course… Has to be bike commercials during the GP.

Last year I bought online access to the live stream of the GP. It didn’t work that well though.

I’ve seen the kawa clip before, it’s a few years old is it? Still good though.
