Most of us are into customizing our motorcycles, whether it’s adding a new set of handlebars, steel braided braking hoses, or a total rebuild from the ground up. But the one thing we all need is inspiration from others. Here are three excellent sources of inspiration for those into retro style choppers and bobbers.
Underground motorcycle magazine featuring custom motorcycles and their owners. Matt and Dean running DicE are some pretty weird beavers, there’s usually something in there that will crack you up. Other than that the mag is loaded with nice large photos of retro style custom motorcycles of all sorts; Triumph, BSA, Harley, Indian etc. all more or less build by their owners. www.dicemagazine.com
Message board for the home builders and the more experienced running chop shops out of their garage. Good place to find parts and technical advice. People are nice and really into motorcycle customization / building. No matter what brand you ride, if you like to wrench, this is it. www.jockeyjournal.com
Smoking Shutdown magazine
More of a hot rod magazine, but does have the occasional motorcycle. There are lots of other goodies in there, if you’re into the art and style of Kustom Kulture you can’t pass on this. www.smokinshutdown.com
