For serious riders only

Browsing around the internet, trying to take my mind off the fact that I haven’t been able to ride yet because of the damn snow on the roads, I found this amazing collection of ads from motorcycle magazines in the early eighties. This one is a Hein Gericke ad showing the biker image we’re all trying so hard to accomplish. You know’ mullet, tanned, big mustache, dressed in leather, holding a falcon – the perfect image. Judging from the amount of smoking remedies advertised, I guess there weren’t that many law biding white collar workers in the motorcycle community, back when “Cooper Black” (a type face) still roamed the earth.
I think the funniest thing is in the first ad.
For some reason the feel teh need to clarify, “Send the Parts, not your old lady”
“Dude, look, you can get your old lady chromed….oh, wait, my bad…..”
