I’ve been asked to mention the Independence Ride 2007, and since it’s a motorcycle charity event, I’m of course happy to do so. As I’m on the other side of the pond unfortunately I wont be going. But I strongly suggest that all of you who can, go check it out. Riding for charity is a great tradition, not only is it usually a spectacular sight, but also a great chance to go kick some tires with you riding buddies. I seriously wish I could go, lots of cool stuff will be going on at the Independence Ride 2007, as you can see from the press release snippet.
ING DIRECT, the nation’s largest direct bank, is partnering with the Eastern Harley-Davidson Dealers Association to host the Independence Ride 2007 on Saturday, June 9th 2007. The day’s events, which are open to the public, will include a 60-mile motorcycle run from Philadelphia, PA to Wilmington, DE, with a jaw-dropping motorcycle jump by America’s greatest daredevil Robbie Knievel and a performance by the chart-topping Steve Miller Band. The Independence Ride 2007 begins at FDR Park in Philadelphia, PA at 2:00 p.m. and ends at Wilmington’s Riverfront in time for an exhilarating stunt by Robbie Knievel and a live Steve Miller Band performance at Frawley Stadium. Proceeds from the Independence Ride 2007 will benefit the ING DIRECT Kids Foundation and the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).
