Long Way Round

I just bought the Long Way Round DVD. If you have no idea what I’m talking about it’s the TV series where Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman rides around the world on two BMW R 1150 GS. It’s an amazing journey those guys are taking, and it’s was equally entertaining to watch. I don’t know if I would be up for a journey like that, I have plenty of untravelled European roads waiting ahead, before I venture out into the less travelled parts of the world. But if you have a little touring gene in your bones, there’s no doubt you will enjoy watching these lads crossing the uncrossable, eating sheep’s balls in Mongolia and riding their motorbikes through the most incredible sceneries. Thumbs up to McGregor and Boorman, for bringing cameras on their 20.000 miles journey.
I’ve watched the T.V. show and I absolutely loved it. Now I’m reading the book, and I can’t put it down. I just bought it a few days ago, and I’m on chapter 9 already. I think that each of them are fantastic, but I enjoy the DVD best. I also loved the still photoes in the book. You should check the book out.
Sincerely,
Kaylee Campbell

[…] You have most likely seen, or at least heard of, the TV series Long Way Round where Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman drive around the world on motorcycles. Ewan and Charley is not the only ones who have video documented their cross continental motorcycle escapades. Here is a video made by some less know polish motorcycle riders riding from Gdansk in Poland to Cape Town in South Africa. It’s clearly made on a smaller budget, but the entertainment value is just as great. It’s very clear that these guys had a life time adventure which they reflect on with a great sense of humor. Makes you want to pick up a dirt bike and just go… […]
Let me suggest you another journey! In July you can visit one of the greatest biker festival in Europe. You just have to travel to Germany, and You will find the BMW Motorrad Days! Have Fun!
Met some Scottish riders last year who just came from the BMW Motorrad Days, they said is was a hoot.
