New Italian sport adventure motorcycles for 2008

The craze continues and more manufacturers add this new class of motorcycles to their line up. Here’s a pair of the new Italian models we’ve seen so far, and a few links to articles that mention them.
Moto Guzzi Stelvio
In the larger category is the Moto Guzzi Stelvio 1200. Not sure if it actually qualifies as a sport adventure bike, but is more of a adventure tourer like the BMW GS 1200, KTM Adventure, Honda Varadero etc. (phew! all those freaking motorcycle categories these days). But anyways, rumor has it Moto Guzzi will make an 850cc version as well, that’ll probably qualify better. Don’t know about you but I always thought Moto Guzzi’s looked a little funky in an odd kind of way.
Moto Morini Granpasso 1200
Still on the heavy side, but it looks like the Moto Morini Granpasso 1200 has a wee bit more sport in it. Doesn’t look all bad if you ask me.

Looking like a great bike year in 2008. Just got the latest Motorrad magazine and the new BMW F800GS looks great, I could not find any pictures of it on the web apart from those early mock ups which do not look exactly like the real thing. Here are the specs I know so far. 85HP Parallel Twin, 207kg, Conventional swingarm and chain, upsidedown forks. It looks the biz but its a shame its so porky.
Where’s the stabalizing fins and the re-entry heat tiles?
